    I saw the Second Wind announcement on YT and thought, “Oh shit, this isn’t gonna be good.” And it’s not. That’s damning. Frost is one of the most thoughtful, intelligent, eloquent, and insightful voices in the industry. I find it hard to believe that he’d walk out of what has been, on the surface, a smashing success (and a huge fuck-you to the corporate zombies that have taken over games media) without very good reason. And it’s ironic that the reason appears to be Nick, whose firing prompted the whole team to walk from Escapist in solidarity.

    Frost has been the reason why I’ve watched second wind and the listened to windbreakers podcast. I hope this action gets second wind to get their act together and make the changes necessary rather than the team being fractured again and moving elsewhere. But ultimately they should do what’s best for them so i wouldn’t be annoyed if frost and some others had to go make a third wind somewhere else.

    Good to see Calandra getting blasted publicly, the man is a humongous piece of shit so I hope yahtzee follows suit and I can go back to watching his stuff too.

      Never heard of this dude before, but I’m getting some serious second-hand-catharsis for the public naming-and-shaming Frost gave him on his way out.

      I’ve left a couple jobs angry, but always bite my tongue.

      It’s soothes my bitter heart to see someone burn the bridge and also take a shit on the ashes.

        He’s a culture war brained team sports guy who has his own doxing server and has sent actually organized harassment campaigns against the families of people he is beefing with online.

        That guy shouldn’t manage a Target, let alone have a platform.

            He’s objectively not that important of a person.

            He’s the EIC of a tiny journalistic outlet that basically lives off of one or two of its content creators’ clout (one of whom was Frost), and a terminally online asshole on his own time.

            Good for Frost for getting rid of that albatross, basically; Calandra is about as useful as a sawblade made of dicks, his survival in the public sphere is entirely predicted on people wanting to work for him, and any one person deciding not to is a step in the right direction.

    Oh shit, Frost was my favorite new thing about 2nd Wind. I hope he lands well, I want to keep listening to that sultry voice!
