I have to use Windows 11 for my school computer, not allowed to change the OS. I didn’t realize how shit awful explorer had gotten between 10 and 11. For anyone reading this who has to use 11: there are explorer alternatives. I use OneCommander and it let me change the default explorer for shortcuts and when other programs bring things up like with “show in folder” options. I don’t have to use windows explorer anymore and while it’s no Linux at least it doesn’t have fucking copilot and it gives me back basic control

It’s possible but imo unlikely. I know its very different in a lot of ways but Starbucks at least will close a location to “save money” practically day of a successful unionizing vote. A union gets harder to squash the longer they’re around, and more likely to spread to other locations, so companies get pretty trigger happy about shuttering places.

I got GalliumOS onto an old chromebook last year. It was a bit of a fight and there are a couple parts if you mess up it’s possible to brick it entirely. Gallium was specifically for chromebooks, it’s been discontinued last I knew, and getting a different os in there sounds even more painful to me… But yeah you can cram Linux into one!

Hell yeah! My first game was a text only java program where you killed skeletons and dragons, gained levels, and movement was done by typing a wasd key then hitting enter lol. You still making games at all?

It’s been hitting -20c where I’m at currently. I love it, I’m so happy I moved here, idk what it is about the cold but it makes me happy and bundling up to go outside is fun

Unless I’m missing something about how to use it the text tool in Krita is terrible though. Been designing cards with people the last few weeks and we ended up making the general design and layout in Krita then brought things into GIMP to add text

House size and media consumption are going to be big factors here I think. You get four people trying to stream, game, listen to music, whatever it is people these days use phones for, etc; it’s going to really add up. Sure lots of people barely use the internet and are getting sold way more than they need but it’s not uncommon anymore for multiple hd things to be simultaneously happening in one house

I’m rabid and hungry because Bethesda has fucked up everything they’ve touched lately and I want something that makes me feel like how old Bethesda games did. Give me Morrowind remaster damnit, and Bethesda didn’t even make Fallout 2 and NV they’d butcher remaster/remakes

You can use archinstall and it is dummy simple. Just have another computer or phone around to look things up and go down the menu like a checklist. My admittedly limited arch experience has so far been “run archinstall, use pacman to install tools as I run into things I’d like to have”. I have a Framework 16 with the built in GPU, I imagine some hardware complicates this process but just look stuff up it’s all out there unless you’re on some really wild hardware. Even without archinstall you can follow the arch wiki and you’re basically replicating what the tool does but using the wiki as your checklist and needing to type more

Meanwhile areas of North Idaho want to be part of Washington, going back since before Idaho was even officially a state. I still think ideologically a small bit each of east Washington, northeast Oregon, and north Idaho splitting out to be a new state makes sense. But who in the world would ever want to straight join Idaho in it’s current state…

Okay hear me out, the small college town of Moscow is actually a decent place (for at least a bit longer). Yeah I know "but what about the quadruple homicide"you ask but ignore that it was an outlier… It’s really a small very quiet town with lots of good people, hippies, socialists, the lesbian owned comic/game/costume/sex shop, hills that make it look like Hobbiton, and sunsets so beautiful that the one time I was in Hawaii and people were floored by the sunsets I was like “meh, I’ve got better at home”. It wants so badly to be part of Washington but suffers from being in Idaho. Everywhere else in Idaho is varying degrees of batshit lunacy
