Should have just improved Splitgate 1 instead of shutting it down and re-releasing as a “pick me” for the eSports market. It changed was too much and alienated previous players.

Looks like they’ll realized this esports hero shit was a mistake as this “arena” removes the hero shooter BS and is more like the original. … Which again… Is what it should have been in the first place
Their write-up a few years ago was that the old tech stack was going to be pretty limiting for them, so I think they had to do something like this one way or another if they wanted to raise the ceiling on their potential success.
