I’m not autistic, nor have I ever gravely injured someone through my own action (or inaction) that I know of, but I will tell you this: I don’t understand how these attention-starved children driving these rice burners with their goddamn POW POW UNF POW exhaust systems (and you fuckers know what I’m talking about) are allowed to exist.
I am not a violent person, but I would read their obituaries with great satisfaction.
My current street is horrible for noise. These idiots speed down my road with external speakers blasting bass or Celine dion all throughout the night all throughout the week. The fuel crisis has not slowed them down at all.
As a former rider who had a very quite bike and almost got killed by a driver, I totally understand the desire to have a noisy bike. Noisy bikes save lives.
Noisy bikes piss off your neighbors. Loud pipes DON’T save lives, they make people hate you. Car cabins have become quieter over the years and all you do is get louder for no reason.
Want to be safe? Follow the rules of the road. Don’t weave in and out of cars. Be predictable. DON’T lane split. Be visible (don’t wear all black at night). These are the only types of bikers I ever see.
If Reddit and Lemmy have taught me anything, it’s that if ACAB then AMAA (All Motorcyclists Are Assholes)
I never did any of that stuff, nor does anyone I know. A minority of, often younger riders, give a bad impression.
You can be as safe as you want but when another car merges into you on the highway, there is nothing you can do other than evasive manuevers and hope that you don’t get killed.
Want to make the roads safe? Actually enforce distracted driving, it’s almost as if not just as dangerous as drunk driving, and we take away licences for that. Retest drivers and riders every 5 years, and every 3 years for anyone over 65.

Just like with police. A minority of bad cops give all cops a bad name.

Same can be said for a truck merging on to a person in a car.

Yes. But we’d need a more robust mass transit system or walkable towns/cities. I’m all for that, but not everyone is.

Just for decoration!

I need remote activated road spikes.
I can’t get over how DSG exhaust sound like farts.
Its completely unnecessary too.
But how else will they tell everyone that they’re big and tough?

Except motorcyclists aren’t an inherent part of a purposely oppressive system that routinely does horrific things as a core part of its working.
If a motorcyclist calls another out for bad behavior they don’t (usually) have to risk their life and livelihood to do so.
ACAB comes from the idea that it’s not possible to remain in that group as a subjectively good person.
I get it, you hate motorcyclists, possibly for good reason but the idea that a genuine equivalence exists between them and police is absurd.
