2·13 days agoIf you don’t care about extensions, try some of those “DE default” browsers that never seem to be actual defaults. The ones like GNOME Web, Falkon, Konqueror, Midori (it was the default on one XFCE system once).
Once I heard neurons described as “salty bananas” because of their concentrations of K+, Na+, and Cl- ions.
Therefore, Gatorade is made of neurons.

Vimes picked himself up off the greasy cobbles and stared at the Librarian.
He was experiencing something which had come as a shock to many people,
usually in much more unpleasant circumstances such as a brawl started in the Mended Drum when the ape wanted a bit of peace and quiet to enjoy a reflective pint, which was this:
the Librarian might look like a stuffed rubber sack, but what it was stuffed with was muscle.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Atomic Linux Distros: What Barriers Stand Between You and Making the Switch?
41·8 months agoMost of the ones out there are weird, anti-configurable systems like mobile phone OS.
The only ones that really seem like “the future” in my eyes are Nix and Guix.
And I’m not going to use those because I already have a good setup with my conventional distro (Debian). Anything less than absolute perfection will not get me to switch.
Nix is imperfect because it uses systemd. Guix is imperfect because it has a smaller selection of packages, and a more difficult configuration system.
