Me not having any chat because I don’t have any friend
I agree in that Summit is the most feature complete and polished Lemmy client for Android.
Personally, I would be in favor of having polls because I frequently involve people in taking decisions.
But my use case is quite peculiar because (1) I need to know people’s opinion to take actions based on it, they would not be just informative polls (2) this group of people use Lemmy as their main interaction medium, no other platform is involved.
I’ve resorted to strawpoll in the past or in having comments with multiple options and relying on the most upvoted comment but these solutions have downsides.
Me too, and Lemmy inspired me to unsub! 😉
Forgive me father for I have sinned.
What a beautiful project name! Won it all!
If the back end provided support for multi-communities it would work cross-app in the same way… unfortunately it looks like this is not a priority for the time being.
Their malicious compliance and resentful behavior is bad advertisement in any case, both for app developers and for users. Yes, most people don’t care but I hope some will realize who they are dealing with.
In general I would argue that he has a good reputation, due to good marketing mostly. A great lot of people see him as some sort of “illuminated visionary” who fosters innovation for the Good™ and will save humanity with SpaceX, Tesla, etc. [I don’t agree personally to any of it but that’s another story].
Obviously I don’t approve of any of it, let it be clear… Lemmy for me is a sort of “therapy group” where I find relief from that toxic environment.
I come from a super-right wing family too (but from Europe) and they really are in love Elon because it’s like “a dog being out of control” in the billionaire group, the one who is brave enough to go against the rules, defying the “cancel culture” and the unidirectional thinking imposed by political correctness.
As a software developer, I’d recommend them to switch to semver, having three digits to separate major, minor and patch numbers. This makes it easier for customers to identify if the new version has just minor fixes (an ingredient removed), breaking changes (eg the menu changes) or major changes (all the waiters were replaced) compared to the previous one.
As long as we make jokes on it, it’s fine!
Hail Sailor Moon, full of grace the Lord is with thee… having been raised in a Catholic country, the reaction is nearly automatic.
Lab-grown meat is equated to synthetic ingredients and ultra-processed foods which are known to raise health problems (but are not banned, not all additives at least and not everywhere).
Considering how politics goes these days, the producers of cultivated meat just hadn’t a grip on the ministry as strong as the farmer lobby. No ideological or public health reason whatsoever. And it’s not Italy, it’s just politics and business everywhere.
Today it’s Italy’s turn, maybe tomorrow someone else will be on the hot seat.
Misinformation has already spread in the continent. This will be downvoted but “too little, too late” is the only thing that comes to my mind reading that piece of news.
You know, they are not being autocratic, it’s for people’s own good, to protect children and other “random bullshit go!” things.
Unless we act, we’re doomed. This is the new “nobles and clergymen”, only it’s “riches and beurocrats”.
Maybe try to seduce policemen being better at sexting?
