I’ve had to use vim once or twice. It’s… fine. Not really my thing. I’m a nano guy (or, ideally, VS Code).
I would unironically rather have someone in office who honestly and openly wants to kill people on an individual level than someone who pretends they don’t while implementing policies that slaughter millions

1·7 days agoI don’t think this is true. People are out here having straight up AI psychosis. Do you really think there aren’t fools who believe their computer is actually thinking like a human?

1·7 days agoI agree it’s unnecessary to point out. Using anthropomorphising shorthand to talk about technology is extremely common, and AI is no different; saying an AI is “thinking” or whatever is fine. But there is a difference between using that language as shorthand, and actually holding misconceptions about what is really happening. So saying that it’s fine for someone to be misled and use that language is different than just saying the language makes sense to use.

22·7 days agoI wouldn’t call this an “experiment” exactly, there wasn’t a proper hypothesis. They also mentioned they hoped to find out what LLMs think about when they’re not being prompted, which shows such a fundamental lack of knowledge that it frankly disqualifies any of their opinions on the subject.
