Wait… GIRP is finishable?! I assumed it was infinitely generated because I’m terrible at it and didn’t get anywhere near the end! Aw I might play it at lunch tomorrow :)

You’d be amazed at what you can make! :) I am not formally trained, and picked up a tonne from doing (and youtube) - smarts be darned, I have fun! :) If there’s a game you’d like to make or look into how it’s put together, I find it to be a fun hobby definitely.

it’s a very cheap hobby, as the big three (Godot, Unity, and Unreal) all are free to use (the latter two have commercial costs, but godot is open-source), so I love it for that too! :) There’s no equipment needed either, I even have godot installed on my phone because I can! :)

I’m a unity dev, so that’s my wheelhouse. Unity offer handy lessons to help you pick up how things work, but both godot and unity are okay once you overcome “whoah lots of things! send help!”. I’ve not used unreal, but I gather the building-block scripting “blueprints” is easy enough. :)

That’s awesome! :) Did you land on a favourite for day-to-day stuff? I had the exact same pipeline - windows 11 was announced, and Mint went on days later! :) I love Kubuntu at the moment, and tried PopOS as well. :)

Usually I manage $40-$67 (£30-£50) in the UK - usually it depends on if I need bonus things that aren’t weekly (cleaning supplies etc) :)

edit: this is for just two people though :)

Ubuntu all the way! :) Before I learned there were other ones, then wound up back on Mint again after a trip around the houses. :)

I “broke” linux mint just by trying to pop KDE on, had to timeshift because it messed up my keyboard layout and a whole bunch of other things with my display.

I don’t know how people do these crazy changes without pain, and have a feeling the answer is simply “there’s pain” 😂

I appreciate the thing Obsidian do where they seem to make things in parallel so there’s constantly income (in theory) - hopefully still do good games and it’s a way to stop layoffs after projects end. :)

I really enjoyed the game, but… I did lose despite having fully solved the case and got a confession. Maida told me it was okay to do, but it wasn’t?

This was funnily what got me considering binning my account, (then Cambridge Analytica being in the news made it a thing I went through with).

I discovered that filtering out sponsored, friends-of-friends, shared posts, and sorting by most recent, there were 3 posts maximum each day written by someone I know! :) It made me realise how manipulative the site was, how frequently I “checked the fridge”, and how little I might actually miss. :)

Not the aims of fbpurity, but damn I’m happier since binning facebook :)

Omg shadow of memories! What a pick :) great game that I’ve heard barely anyone talk about :)

It feels like the rules to say an official english translation for Mother 3! Loved playing it (if Nintendo read this I did not play it)

Guiltily I’d also love a WWF Smackdown or Here Comes the Pain remaster, same arcade gameplay, same roster, or updated but just prettier and expanded! :)

I also would throw in sponsorblock to that too - it skips all the “but first, Raid Shadow Legends…” “don’t forget to like share and subscribe” nonsense :)

edit: thank you, I just poked into YouTube Revanced, and found DeArrow was on! This explains why I didn’t like youtube’s content when on my PC, so I’ll 100% be adding this to Firefox! :)
