2914·6 months agoThe takeaway: Microsoft forced pre-release firmware onto millions of computers.
They’re lucky only a small percentage were damaged tbf.
Edit: on re-readinf I may have parsed this incorrectly
pre-release engineering firmware on certain SSDs, which may have been triggered by the Windows 11 updates.
It may be more like “for some reason some drives have pre-release software and the update… interacts badly with it?”
Most of us dead from climate change and famine. The rest slaves for the corpos, tend their fields and robot repair facilities or die.

It’s very easy once you know it’s literally just an SSH account.For personal projects or small teams is absolutely fine.
For open source there are lots of GitHub alternatives

Would like it if they had a loan option or similar. Business loan was the only option left, grants come in tranches anyway, could have just had milestone based grant tranches.

13·7 months agoIn order to get the “content” (aka “make the game”) grants (at least recently when I applied) you needed to have at least 2 PAYE employees working on the game AND have the other half fully funded by non grant means.
Solo Devs are rejected out of hand and that seems incredibly short sighted. I am biased though.
Ironically, when you look at the receipts that is all it says.
I think they’re just blanket saying “follow our morals or die” rather than “this particular title offends us”.

They realise that being rich when it all collapses won’t save them. They need to be revered so people don’t eat them.
It won’t work.
