My boss told me this is due to the skills shortage.
I once met a person that never drank water, only soft drinks. It’s not the unhealthiness of this that disturbed me, but the fact they did it without the requisite paperwork.
Unlike those disorganised people I have a formal waiver. I primarily drink steam and crushed glaciers.

Thing is, its EOL, per Asus. Does this mean that it won’t be supported on OpenWRT for much longer?
OpenWRT tends to support devices longer and better than the OEM, but it depends on the popularity of the chipset inside the router.
Many different routers by different companies are almost identical internally, because they use the same chipset. Eg the RT-AC3100 seems to be a bcm53xx variant, of which OpenWRT supports a few dozen products. Support will probably only be dropped when every single one of those devices goes EOL and several years pass (ie no people left contributing/maintaining it and the builds break somehow).
Router chipsets can be very long lived. Many new devices use decade old chipset designs. Some chipset families have almost identical chips released every few years with slightly different peripherals, clocks & pinouts; but are supported by the same kernel drivers.
(This is all much better than the world of mobile phone hardware support. Maybe it’s because of different market pressures? Not to mention you don’t have a monopoly that benefits from keeping the hardware fractured. Imagine if people could make a competitor to Android that works across most devices out there)
As far as I understand, wireguard is designed so that it can’t be portscanned. Replies are never sent to packets unless they pass full auth.
This is both a blessing and a curse. It unfortunately means that if you misconfigure a key then your packets get silently ignored by the other party, no error messages or the likes, it’s as if the other party doesn’t exist.
EDIT: Yep, as per https://www.wireguard.com/protocol/
In fact, the server does not even respond at all to an unauthorized client; it is silent and invisible.

32·6 months agoPSA: Perfect dark (original n64) has a community-made PC port that’s beyond excellent.

I hated the original because the low framerate gave me bad motion sickness. The PC port is like magic by comparison.

Read only: as per other answers here, basically any HTTP server. The easiest one I know would be darkhttpd, because it requires no config files and can be run without root.
Read write: I like WFM https://github.com/tenox7/wfm
Really, Penfold.

5·11 months agoEvery news website is covering it. I think I’ve spotted most of 10 articles around the place.
The law of well-marketed unreleased goods dictates that this vehicle is not going to meet any of the promises mentioned in the articles. I hope to be proven wrong, but just like video games: don’t pre-order, wait for it to come out and be reviewed.
I swear that I read that white lead oxide is water soluble, thus happily sticks to your fingers and then gets on your food. I must be misremembering.
Maybe it was something about the solid lead object turning into an (oxide) powder that can then be easily ported as tiny particles on greasy hands? Hearsay science and safety information from me today :)
The fun thing about Pb is it’s relatively safe in pure form. Unfortunately the oxides that appear on its surface are water soluble and love entering our bodies.Just looked this up, apparently I’m completely wrong. Maybe I was thinking about lipid compatibility? Not sure now.

2·1 year agoI happily ran THUGPRO under wine, so I assume rethawed would be the same. Dunno.
Where am I even supposed to buy it if I wanted to, which I don’t really,
Looks like it’s abandonware. Yeah, publisher dropped the ball.

7·1 year agoMight be worth checking out ReThawed.. You can choose the physics models, UI, characters, tricks and maps from all of the old THPS games.
I tried THUGPRO previously (another community mod in similar vein) and it was fun, especially the mods to the park editor (overlapping objects!) and Sonic Adventure maps.

121·1 year agoThe whole thing is vaguely and noncomittally worded, it promises basically nothing.
Take this bit for example:
taking into account the EULAs of specific games within it
In other words: talk to the individual publishers of each game and get their permission :P At which point GOG’s involvement is almost irrelevant, if you have the publisher’s consent then they might as well give you a copy.

5·1 year agoI would assume that court orders and proved wills have different levels of coercion when you present them to someone like GOG? Dunno. Each country probably has its own rules, including fun complexities like whether or not GOG was a party to the process or not.

Games@sh.itjust.works•GOG will let you bequeath your game library to someone else as long as you can prove you're actually deadEnglish
56·1 year agoTitle of PCGamer’s article is misleading, they want a court order to do it. Proof of death is not enough.
“In general, your GOG account and GOG content is not transferable. However, if you can obtain a copy of a court order that specifically entitles someone to your GOG personal account, the digital content attached to it taking into account the EULAs of specific games within it, and that specifically refers to your GOG username or at least email address used to create such an account, we’d do our best to make it happen. We’re willing to handle such a situation and preserve your GOG library—but currently we can only do it with the help of the justice system.”
They have to do that anyway. Court orders overrule a company’s policies in most (all?) legal systems.

Similar here.
Family is mostly OK on it. We used to have issues with iOS devices not noticing some new messages & calls, but that seems to have stopped a few months ago. Family is usually impatient about me getting to my phone and rings me using 3 different services in a row, one of them Snikket xD
Have not yet managed to get any friends onto it.
