We need to start demanding technical diagrams again. I’ve fixed up antiques where the schematics were printed on the inside, even for a simple flashlight.

Not saying it isn’t useful, but that it’s understandable someone might not have that skill.

I’m a millenial, too. Even I use my phone or computer to tell time more often than anything. Before smart phones we had some solid years relying on wall clocks and watches. It was a skill we kept using after we learned it, unlike a lot of kids who haven’t needed to flex that muscle since they were taught.

The lack of rape?

Ducks have diverse mating habits, like humans. They don’t have to rape, but they will when there’s overcrowding, males outcompete females, and/or they live in an urban environment where females lack the strength and space to escape.

Otherwise, most species of ducks form seasonal pair bonds with new mates each year. Some come back to the same mate each year, which isn’t quite the same as monogamy since they don’t stick together when not fucking and rearing young. A few ducks will mate for life, and a lot of larger waterfowl, like geese and swans, are monogamous.

My best guess is SEO. Journalism that mentions ChatGPT gets more hits. It might be they did use a specialist or specialized software and the editor was like “Say it was ChatGPT, otherwise people get confused, and we get more views. No one’s going to fact check whether or not someone used ChatGPT.”

That’s just my wild, somewhat informed speculation.

I can’t find this story backed up anywhere outside of news aggregator sites. Futurism has blatantly made shit up before.

Where’s the full video if he was recording? All we see is a guy holding broken glasses and a woman standing. Why didn’t the journalist reach out to the guy for more details? Or try to find out who the woman was? Why no other angles, people recording with their phones, other witnesseses posting to social media?

90% sure this is fake and or staged.
