This looks so neat, I screenshot for future reference if I wanted to recreate this, thanks :)
The irony is insane. “Act authoritative” even tho I literally didn’t claim to know anything for certain (I do not -think-, perhaps, I believe). Also as other gentleman pointed out, no other comment was there when I tried to help. I asked about vnc -after- I made my initial comment, because a few minutes after other people started pitching in with more accurate and relevant information. I feared the post would go on to have no responses so I tried to pitch in; you don’t have to know everything about everything in order to try and help someone out, all I did was provide my take on the matter, which is better than ignoring the question, regardless of how fruitful or fruitless what I had to say was. People like you are why noobs are afraid if dipping their toes in more technical areas such as linux, and get scared off by smartass supremacists that like to spoil things for no good reason. Sincere, seek help. 🤦🏻♂️
Thanks, sounds interesting
Thx for sticking up 😎 🤝
thankfully i already stopped watching youtube thru the website and now use freetube on pc and grayjayy on android
bless up.
whats a vnc server o.O
i do not think it is possible, but perhaps the closest thing u can get is virtualbox or qemu/kvm/virtmanager with shared folders, i believe that allows you to passthrough files between guest and host. (shared folders allow you to copy paste something on ur host into them and have them appear in the guest, but dont think i used them before, at least not extensively, so you might have to look into them to check if this advice helps you)
Ironically arch, the only issues I have when using it are usually just sound issues, which simply occur before a pipewire update, during one, or right after one. A reboot or two fixes things for me :p I get to enjoy a lightweight system without efforts I’m not willing to put:) (the features I guess are that it breaks a lot less than I expected, and that arch + i3 legit use around 450mb on idle for me ☠️)

i understand entirely, it just felt like a good opportunity to say how spotify is trying to enlarge their size of the moneypie by eating out of hardworking musician’s cut and simultaneously filling user’s playlists with bloat
Take it this way, if 1 person pays 10$ a month for Spotify and gets about 50 hours of music out of it, it’s more beneficial for Spotify if a significant portion of that time is spent on music they pump into the playlists themselves, which costed them pennies to make, instead of having that user listen to real artists, that will ask for actual pay in exchange for their streams. They’re not paying a little bit to make alot, they’re paying a little bit to avoid paying even more. It’s basically average desk job employee outsourcing their work to indians who get like a dollar a day and are happy with it cus it’s their only option
Fyi Spotify has been doing stuff like this for years, hire dirt cheap artists, make up a fake artist/band name, upload generic jingles and implant them on every single category playlist they can. Prime example are playlists for things that don’t have too much complexity like lo-fi, calm piano, stuff like that. Disgusting. Edit: u can spot them out by digging thru some of the “artists”, and when u find one with fishy profile try looking them up on other platforms. Millions of plays on Spotify but nearly nonexistent outside of it? That’s a plant😂
Amen to that brother 🔥
Yukhk. I hate how so many of these services spend most of their efforts on marketing instead of making a decent product or experience. Isn’t mullvad one of the actual best VPN providers out there? NEVER seen them run an ad, hell, I only found out about them on accident due to mental outlaw, some ordinary gamers or the linux experiment. Can’t remember which tho.
Yeahh no shit! Been using it for a short while now, glad Im able to find a couple groups to chat with, such an underrated service/protocol or whatever. I hope it and element keep getting better maybe I can get more friends to use it! Been tryna ditch Instagram cus half for the reason I use it nowadays is simply to keep in touch with friends and family as I don’t use any other messaging service ATM.
They do, and they don’t care. The algorithm is actually tailored to find out if/when you fall asleep while watching videos, and then recommends longer videos in autoplay when it believes you are, because they’ll get to play you more ads and cash out more. When/if they implement pause ads advertisers will have an even bigger case against against yt inflating ad watch time to make more money. Facebook has this issue as well.
