Cralder@lemmy.worldOPto Linux@lemmy.ml•Is there support for USB C DP alt mode via Thunderbolt?English1·6 months agoNo I don’t have that installed. Isn’t DisplayLink something completely different?
Rebooting while connected sorta worked, but not really. When I logged in the laptop monitor went black and the external monitor was black with a white underscore at the top left as if a terminal was open. So that’s something I guess but I could not use my computer at all in this state.

The screenshot says this violated rule 4 or the sitewide rules:
Rule 4
Do not share or encourage the sharing of sexual, abusive, or suggestive content involving minors. Any predatory or inappropriate behavior involving a minor is also strictly prohibited.
This happened to my Surface pro 4 with both Windows and Linux. Could be a hardware issue.
Could the open-sourcing of the other drive apps lead to an unofficial Linux app?
Is this meme not supposed to give good advice?
Cralder@lemmy.worldto Fediverse@lemmy.world•Would Lemmy Benefit from Implementing Polls?English95·1 year agoIts a good idea, but how would that work with federation? There is already an issue with the number of upvotes on a post differing between instances. Would polls have the same problem or no?
Edit: now that I think about it, polls are already a thing on Mastodon but I don’t know if they have these issues or not.
It can’t really be enforced and they say so in the proposal. It is something “good actors” should abide by just like robots.txt. Anyone can just ignore it if they want.
