Linux Mint w/ Cinnamon is a pretty painless transition.
Lol, torrents aren’t going anywhere. Decentralized and entrenched as fuck.
Recently started learning NixOS and seems like it’s going to be ridiculously awesome! Documentation doesn’t look to be great in a lot of areas though unfortunately, so might be a while before I really figure shit out.

How do you avoid “hoarding”?
I dont. Hard drives are increasingly cheap/large. I have to really dislike something to delete it. I have a fair amount of content that I don’t really plan on watching again, but someone I know might like it so i just leave it typically.
and a script blocker
Way too many people still don’t understand that this is an essential part of the security equation. Many sites execute 10+ scripts, many of which are doing who the fuck knows what, and said sites typically only need like 1 to 3ish allowed to function.
Sure it’s inconvenient compared to not doing anything, but it’s mostly front loaded inconvenience. Once you get things dialed in for frequently used sites, and learn to tell at a glance what needs to be allowed, its really not much hassle at all tbh.
Self-proclaimed luddite? Well that’s certainly a choice lol. Have fun being perpetually confused and angry I guess.
You are quite likely to regret going down this route. Should do what you have to to get the drives properly connected.
Yes, but you can change it to whatever you like after extraction.
Change the file’s timestamp.

Depends on how you define stealing.
Well you should probably use the actual definition. Copying information is never stealing. Whether or not piracy is ethical is a debate you can engage in if you want, but either way, it’s still not theft. Words have meanings.

Where are you getting price controls?
From the title and content of the meme? Fair enough if you don’t share that sentiment, but I literally led with commenting on it.
For example, ending corn subsidies
Should absolutely be done. Would be better for everyone except politicians and corporations. Also happens to be a move towards a freer, less distorted market.
So the answer is price controls to keep junk food cheap for the masses who can’t control their eating habits? Makes sense.
And having loads of people with a particular personal failing doesn’t make it not one. At some point people need to take some responsibility for their actions and work to improve themselves. Otherwise their lives will continually be mired in negative consequences.
