Look, I’m looking at reddit posts about niche stuff like a fiend. But when I make a post, I always go here first
I’ve switched, but I haven’t stopped searching old reddit posts. The cache of information is just too rich to pass up.
It’s all about mindset. I’m all in fediverse, despite actually using reddit sometimes. Switching doesn’t mean blocking the entire website
There’s a sysd GUI that you can use to look at logs. It’s much faster to just refresh the UI than searching your history for the right command

1·30 days agoIf you set a number like 5 million it will eventually reach the middle class. For example, the AMT was created to tax billionaires, but I actually had to pay it one year because I sold some assets. Now middle class people have to potentially do two calculations to see if AMT applies (when you have a one time sale with a capital gain)
Instead of making lots of new rules at random cutoffs, why not just fix the rules we already have?
Repeal the stepped up basis for inheritance, repeal caps on payroll taxes, etc

1·1 month agoWell, current electric helicopters don’t have a long range. But that’s a 2026 problem, when battery tech improves they can be made just as good. Actually, better, since electric helicopters are quieter


It might be cool for storing solar energy for your home, though. We don’t need to always carry the battery in every use case
