It’s like the standard ”I use Arch btw” meme, but maybe there are too many Linux users on Lemmy so these people need to find a new way to feel special.

The “fuck ai” crowd sounds so much like the “fuck cloud” crowd from 10-15 years ago.

Unless you’re Facebook or any other social media giant. GDPR is just an minor tax on their profit.

Don’t worry, I’m sure this paragon of wisdom would come up with another excuse of why they would pirate the game even if it did have a discount.

There’s a difference between using AI to help you code and pure vibe coding. The latter is how you end up with slop, but the former can absolutely speed up skilled developers.
Same is true across the board with AI use. It can easily be a force multiplier for people as long as you don’t turn off your brain and slop away.

I certainly agree with your point on the jerk reaction, but given some of the guttural hate people have for AI, even though I don’t agree with his tactic to deal with it, I can certainly see the frustration.
Using AI to help code doesn’t necessarily mean completely vibe coding.

So with this logic are you also not an artist if you use tools like Photoshop? Do you need to write with pen and paper?
Is writing code in any language other than assembly also cheating?

The AI hate crowd on Lemmy is pretty insufferable. Same folks would be complaining about Cloud tech back in the day.
Know the limits of AI and use it appropriately. Completely shunning AI is just silly.

Are you an “All Lives Matter” clown? It sure reads that way.

Excellent summary, and thank you for the bold section on paying credit card interest. I can’t count the number of times I’ve heard that myth.

What are you talking about?

Yeah that tracks. No, support for Taiwanese unification with China is not gaining support. Look at the posturing China is doing with its military. Look at the steps Japan is starting to take to prepare for this possibility.

I swear every single Plex related thread has the same Jellyfin fanatics coming in. Same energy as “my MIL has trouble with her computer” “just install Linux bro!” comments.

An AI that moves the mouse on your screen so you don’t need to! Now you can go back to work while your mouse doom scrolls for you.
Q: How can you tell someone uses Jellfin?
A: Don’t worry, they’ll tell you!

What are some good mobile clients for piefed?

Besides supporting them, the offline download feature on mobile is amazing for travel.
I can’t count the number of times I’ve tried to watch some downloaded Netflix content, only to realize it had “expired” and no longer worked.

Your users are upset? Either they’re damn entitled, or you’re charging them like one of those “streaming” services.
Who gets upset with an email when it clearly states what’s going on regarding the Plex Pass.
Funny to hear all the complaining from people about Plex. I’ve been using it for years and bought a lifetime pass years ago because I wanted to support them. If you’ve been using it for so long and loved it, I question why you never bought a pass?

Sounds like the US should take a page from China’s playbook and steal the design, then claim to have built it on their own.

No, that’s a DLC. Second most popular one behind “driving while being a minority”. With that DLC you get pulled over and harassed randomly.
We will be sending you a bill to upgrade our power plant. Thank you for your data center services.
