Dude…what’s your CashApp? A Firestick costs like $20.

Getting those Office Space vibes.
Mass Effect 1 at #49?? List is utter trash.
And, no, I do not believe that my creation of a “show” made from editing my full ME1 gameplay has biased me at all. 😤
Also, I think that this (and most Best X of All Time lists) would be better served by breaking things down to eras, rather than trying to rank “of All Time”.
The majority of the first 15 entries on this list are PC-only that require some difficulty to acquire let alone get playing well on modern machines. This isn’t a list where a younger gamer could just jump and start playing through the titles, from both the age of the graphics and the mechanics of the older titles to simply getting these games playing through something like Steam or GoG. Even playing Baldur’s Gate through its Xbox remaster has been hard for me because it just takes a completely different gaming strategy to play a game that old.
Breaking this list into like 90 to early 00s, mid-00s to mid-2010s, and mid-2010 to 2020+ would differentiate this list and introduce gamers to more relevant games.
I’ve finished 3 games I think across Civ 4-6. Two were military victories and then one I tried to get one of the social victories, but then kept losing so I just built up my military and took over the world again.
Several thousand hours later, I’m still waiting to finish another. It’ll happen soon; just one more turn…
Completely agree. I played the beta for about an hour and I liked it, though it is definitely lacking some polish right now.
A few more imaginative maps and ditching some of the more annoying character lines would go a long way to helping me fully “switch” from Overwatch. I also like that they put the lore right there for you, whereas OW makes you go hunt for it.
This was my biggest issue. I live in a townhouse with a carport-ish thingy, but the same issue applies.
How does this app work given the API costs? How does it manage to not deliver ads?
I ask because, while I’ve currently embargoed myself from Reddit, I’d like to have some details noted so I don’t fall in love with this and then get hurt again.
Time to recall “Recall”. And fix Windows 11 and repackage as W12 while they’re at it.
I don’t think they’ll extend it, but I’m predicting that there will be some massive bug or security issue found in Windows 10 after its support has ended, and Microsoft will be forced to create an update for it since Windows 10 will retain such high market share.
Not sure why so many companies are so focused on making a miserable user experience these days. I know it’s mainly about appeasing shareholders, but it feels like there should be a few more long-sighted people in the mix who can see this backfire in the end.
Yeah, but I’ve been using the Jellyfin app on the Roku for my older “dumb” TVs, so I’m just fracked at this point.
That said, the webOS Jellyfin app is finally available for all webOS TVs, so at least I can go straight to JF on one TV.
Sounds like we need to start developing ad-blockers based directly within the OS.
Too bad they didn’t have this attitude before cutting 1900 jobs, most of them Blizzard employees and making the cut after promising not to make massive cuts.
I talked to Him the other day. He’s cool with it.
Evernote is “dead”.
Try Joplin if you haven’t already. !joplinapp@sopuli.xyz
It is similar to Evernote and you can set up the sync on another service like Dropbox or even your self-hosted solution. You can also pay them a few bucks a month for their hosting services.
Joplin has a good iOS app as well as apps for nearly all other platforms. I migrated from Evernote to Joplin after Evernote practically doubled their prices and then switched their free option down to a single notebook and could not be happier.
Right now the best option still seems to buy a Roku TV and never connect it to the internet.
No, your best option is to buy any other TV than a Roku TV, and not connect that TV to the internet.
I spent ungodly amount of hours in this game as a kid.
Ever play through all of the first World using a DDR mat?? Because that’s the only way to know you’ve mastered the game! 😅
Gotta follow that Reddit formula… 🤦♀️
I’m shocked they’re moving to ads when I’ve been paying them $4/month for Discord Nitro for several years now. Surely, that revenue is enough for their upkeep???
I’ve used both Apple and Android and I highly prefer Apple. There’s plenty of stuff that Android can do, but despite that, I still prefer my iPhone.
This isn’t some ignorant sheep-think. I’m aware that I could get a phone with relatively similar hardware for half the cost of an iPhone. I prefer Apple. I love how iPhone and iPad integrate together and it is why I’ll continue purchasing those products.
For more intense computing, however, I highly prefer PCs because I dislike the MacOS environment. Everything that I enjoy on iPhone and iPad ”feel” stifling in a desktop setting. When it comes to gaming or getting work done, I have more flexibility through Windows or Linux than I “feel” I have on a Mac.
What I don’t understand is why it is so hard for other people accept that preferences are fine, and if someone is willing to accept what another person considers a restriction or an “upcharge”, it is their prerogative.
I can’t recall offhand. What I will say, though, is that your PS4 is not designed to be a streaming device. It can utilize streaming apps, but that is not its purpose or focus. The apps available on its platform will always be a step behind those for dedicated streaming devices such as Firestick, Roku, Chromecast, AppleTV, or specific streaming apps on a smart TV.
If you are concerned about data harvesting, you should migrate away from Plex and onto something open source like Jellyfin overall. Once Plex closed their code and pushed towards monetization, they began harvesting data just like any other streaming service. That said, there is no Jellyfin app on PS4, but it is fully accessible through the PS4. Again, however, your PS4 is not really meant to be your all-encompassing streaming platform. A Roku or Firestick is very cheap, it is designed to only stream apps, both of Jellyfin, and Plex if you need to continue on that path, and will provide a far better viewing experience than a PS4.
