What’s happening in the American Reich is inspiring a very strong sense of European patriotism like I’ve never seen before among common people around me.

It’s pretty ironic, yet makes sense, that European unity could be achieved this sad way.

I’m not sure it’s in those exact terms, but I think there were a few cases with high levels of preparation. Ended up being ruled as suicides anyway by the courts and the media. Not saying they’ll always win, though. But their idealogical power is not to underestimate.

A minister in my country was deemed to have committed suicide by drowning in a 50cm body of water. Strangely enough, all witnesses have committed suicide too just before being heard by the courts.

And it worked. Everybody know it wasn’t a suicide, but it changes nothing for those responsible of the murder.

When I read those, I consider myself lucky. I’m not handsome, normal sized, not athletic at all, not very sociable, closer to poor than rich, yet I never experienced any of those. Always had a few close friends and never have been single for more than 4 consecutive months since my 15th birthday. And I’m almost 40.

Is it a matter of luck? Of countries culture? Of type of schools/univ? Of social groups or generation ? I truly wonder.

Possible case : me. I often forget my seat belt. Fortunately, most people remind me about it and then I immediately fasten it.

The reason is simple. I think I use a car, always as a passenger, like 3 times a year. When I used to drive, it was such an automatic gesture I’d never forget it. But it’s so easy to forget when it becomes very rare. Everything is hypnotizing when you enter a car. I’m glad the driver reminds me, but I could be OP’s lost one.

That’s very true, yes. And non-inherent hardly means “weak” or “inefficient”.

Indeed, I do think the same. What I have trouble understanding, and even with close friends, is how “no inherent meaning to existence” seems to quickly become, in some cases, “no meaning to existence”. I always tend to think this slide tends to exclude another possibility. A non-inherent meaning.
