If this is indeed a high quality legal paper then it’ll highlight the weaknesses in the legal foundation of us which enables such positions. If it legally possible, somebody will do it.
You guys pay to get railed in UK?

serenissi@lemmy.worldto Games@sh.itjust.works•Genshin Impact Will Soon Require Age Verification in the United StatesEnglish2·2 months agoScamming children is illegal. Solution isn’t banning children or requiring id to compromise others’ privacy too (who for example play without gambling). This whole thing is bs.
- people store id in their phone most of the time.
What’s the problem with it? These MIT programs already exists. Anyone can make proprietary version. Including in Ubuntu doesn’t change that.
Also your example is pointless. Canonical would rather make a proprietary pam module instead of a custom internal fork of sudo-rs.
serenissi@lemmy.worldto Linux@lemmy.ml•Massive data backup question: What Linux software do you folks recommend for helping sort out and organize terabytes of files and remove duplicates?2·2 months agoNot recommending software. As you mentioned old hard disks, it is better to copy the files or better dd them on a ssd. That way making index and finding duplicates will be faster cause you’ve to access files once and not care about fragmentation if you dd.
serenissi@lemmy.worldto Games@sh.itjust.works•Genshin Impact Will Soon Require Age Verification in the United StatesEnglish3·2 months agoThen why tf a game is responsible for their monetory loss? Children are susceptible to many more scams. And on top of that taking such privacy invasive ‘measure’ to solve it doesn’t make sense either. Children can even upload patent’s ids if parents are so careless anyway.

serenissi@lemmy.worldto Not The Onion@lemmy.world•'Unparalleled' snake antivenom made from man bitten 200 timesEnglish1·2 months agoSo once the cell under immune response makes the antibody, the antibody is a big complex organic molecule right? Have there been any success with synthesizing it in vitro with some crazy ass chemical synthesis? Or cloning such with engineered cells? You said it’s possible with immortal cancer cells. After all cells do not generate antibody out of thin air, the cloning ‘algorithm’ should be somewhere coded.
serenissi@lemmy.worldto Not The Onion@lemmy.world•'Unparalleled' snake antivenom made from man bitten 200 timesEnglish2·2 months agoWhy the antibodies can’t be analyzed and chemically synthesized in lab? I’m a total noob in immunology but haven’t we got quite good at synthesizing organic stuff with say custom bacteria?
