It’s easy internet points on Lemmy to do this song and dance of punching down on US citizens for seemingly not doing anything to fight the current administration.

There’s a lot of ways to do so that get ignored in threads like these.

I think these types of conversations can be very reductive and being inside of the US, I see more dissent and pushback than is sometimes expressed here. So yeah, I’m not so much doing the empire’s propaganda for them as defending the people here actually doing the work you’re all begging us to do.

I don’t really need to prove to you that I’m rebelling in the right ways though. It’s a lot more nuanced and complicated than a lot of these comments want to make it out to be. There’s way more people here that are against the status quo than you want to believe, I think. This stuff doesn’t happen overnight.

Nah, I agree with the take. I disagree that fighting in the comment section against people who are more aware than the average us citizen is going to produce the results you want.

Yeah I find this push for the US to take arms against the US army kind of a weird one at this point. It’s not going to happen overnight and the US is fucking huge. Like, do you all realize how geographically BIG the US is? Do you have any understanding of the difficulties we face in mounting any sort of physical resistance to this shit? You’re solidly delusional if you think complaining at individuals on Lemmy is going to spark a physical revolution here.

Oh of course typing has its own advantages! It would be wise to utilize a combination especially in educational settings. Plus children should be taught how to type and utilize all sorts of tech.

I’m not a parent totally opposed to the use of laptops in school. And honestly, my kid’s school does a pretty good job at balancing the tech with older school methods of learning. But it does no good to insist on transitioning kids into using tech only.
