11·8 months agoOh I see, dunno why my mind went straight to them slapping it on EAs platform 😆
I tried the free run for all of 30min, seems alright…better than what it was at release from my own perspective. Won’t get to properly try til Sunday. I’ll look up your post then see if you still have a key left and come up with a joke.

11·8 months agoAw, if only I cared enough about PoE to download and log into whatever EA game manager is. Guess I’ll wait for the release in 6 years. Anyway nice gesture!

13·1 year agoI wouldn’t be surprised if it didn’t mean that much, if anything OpenRA is ahead of what the original engine was. The only issue is saw with OpenRA’s engine was the odd unit pathing every now and then, so perhaps that could be one thing for them to look at (not that it was consistently great in C&C)
I’ll probably try Project Rubi-ka when they reopen the servers/help them out with some bug hunting, since Anarchy Online, despite its flaws, is still the best MMORPG I’ve played to date… which is kinda sad tbh

Interesting, I recall a colleague in UK mention that it was costing her up to 20k a year. That was her max but not always/everywhere - would have been almost 30k USD at the time, so it sounds considerably cheaper in US but obviously a lot more land available and affordable

12·2 years agoLmao…now if Honda or whichever Japanese manufacturer is still regularly pushing these out came out and sued, I’d be more inclined to think they have some weight behind the accusation because I’m sure I’ve seen something similar before. Then again as others pointed out, they all look similar, even more so once you try to hide the wiring, hydraulics etc

Technology@lemmy.world•Former Google CEO says climate goals are not meetable, so we might as well drop climate conservation — unshackle AI companies so AI can solve global warmingEnglish
111·2 years agoIf actual scientists were in charge, and maybe had some ideas that they weren’t certain would work but sounded promising, which could be theoretically tested with AI - there would be hope.
But none of these fuckers would allow anyone with more than half a brain cell near it, because “investment and growth and blablabla”Then again, we could just do that with existing supercomputers and all these power hungry AI crap companies’ resources (I’m sure some supercomputers do get used for the modelling already)…instead of whatever the fuck they’re trying to do now.
Alrighty then, just need to wait for fucking novideo stock to get back to what I bought it at and I’ll dump and switch (don’t have anything spare to play around with sadly)
I hear you though, I also had(have?) similar physical effect on things like toys as a kid or some electronics since then…just brake shit randomly without trying, especially if I don’t own it.

Technology@lemmy.world•YouTube on TVs is cramming ads down your throat even when pausing videosEnglish
1·2 years agoSadly it’s not, and navigating around it takes a little bit of getting used to (trying to close a video for example is a somewhat counter intuitive). But I’ll take it over adds in youtube. That being said, I used it sparsely, as I don’t have much I want to watch there except play the odd song or maybe one or two other videos a week.

Shhh take your sensible nonsense somewhere else, we want outrage and shitting on everything here
Don’t bother with apps, many website even certain official healthcare sites will have info about food calories, even some calculators and the intake for your age/weight/gender/etc. It seems that if you’re biologically female you’re kinda screwed though, my partner had much harder time getting 1/10th of result I was getting.
When it comes to counting food calories, you don’t necessarily need exact numbers for raw ingredients and that info is out there, for anything else check out packaging and add it all up per day.

Obligatory xkcd… we’re just meatbags somewhere to the left Purity
On a more serious note, there’s plenty to explore there and there are some potentially interesting links to quantum physics and stuff in our brain, as well as how certain drugs can completely disrupt our consciousness (ever had an operation?) and how it could link up. But there is obviously no definitive answer.
At best consciousness is whatever flavour of philosophical interpretation/explanation you like at any given time.
