Hop on the trolley as it passes and put it in reverse! It would delay the world in getting its high-speed rail, but it’s a small price to pay to make sure

I don’t really know about posts like this, but the only board I occasionally go on these days is DIY. Still riddled with brain rot and fascism, but some of the 3d printing and sewing threads are interesting imo

18·6 months agoFinally, a quest I can relate to and get behind.
Go murder a bunch of crabs to make the town safer? Size your destiny and become the legendary hero? Tired, cliche, no thanks.
We wanted to make some banger cheese, so we left it in the dungeon to age, but now a dragon lives there and I really want that cheese? Now THATS a quest I wanna go on!

5·6 months agoI love project moon! The setting of The City is so cool! I spent way more time in Limbus than Lob Corp or Ruina, because both of those are way too hard for me XD

Games@lemmy.world•Hollow Knight: Silksong is out now on Steam - and it broke Steam servers for 30 minutes and counting nowEnglish
291·6 months agoSilksong is the highly anticipated sequel to the original game Hollow Knight. It’s a metroidvania game with a cult following. The sequel has been in development for years, and people are super hyped for its release, proven even more so by the fact that an industry giant like steam not being able to keep up with demand
Big second for Lovers In a Dangerous Spacetime. Purely co-op, very simple controls so even people who aren’t super into games can play, and a super cute aesthetic make it a great ‘We wanna play a game, but don’t want to sweat’ kinda game.
I always bring up Crawl in these threads because it’s so good, and I rarely ever see anyone talking about it! The way that players are always ‘switching teams’ is so fun!

2·7 months agoWe used a hot plate that we could dial specifically to 70c so there was less risk of damaging the battery. Just leave the phone face down on it to bake, and after a few minutes the adhesive pulls apart easily.

2·7 months agoiPhone XS is child’s play, I genuinely can’t fathom why a repair shop (Apple store no less) couldn’t replace a screen on that device. 7 screws (including the pentalopes) and some heat is all you need. Takes 5 minutes of actual repair and another 2 or 3 to run the calibration software.

Greentext@sh.itjust.works•Anon describes apple's practicesEnglish
16·8 months agoI’ve worked in a repair shop before, and we would actually do similar with specific devices. The difference with us I guess is that we wouldn’t take it for repair without you consenting to that prior to us even checking in the device. For things like the original Microsoft Surfaces, and some Lenovo laptops, they’re glued together so tightly that opening them up to fix something is basically impossible without breaking the screen that is on it.
Also with us if we took it for repair and couldn’t fix it, it either had to come back in the same condition, or we fronted the bill for a replacement.
None of this applies to phones at all though. I’d be really interested to hear what device was so difficult that they couldn’t repair it, because all current gen Samsung, Apple and Google Pixel devices are definitely repairable, as long as you have the proper software tools.

Games@lemmy.world•Had a take about Supergiant Games that recieved a lot of pushback fromy two longest running best friends.English
5·9 months agoI love roguelikes, probably one of my favorite genres, so much so that I started playing rogue for a while to see what the OG was like.
And by sales numbers, 100% Pyre would be their worst game, but I’m far past judging a games content by its sales at this point.
And it’s easy to see why Hades is loved by so many, it’s a great game! Just definitely my least favorite of all of Supergiant’s stuff.

51·9 months agoI have the exact same take, and the exact same experience with my friend group. I love supergiant games. Anything they touch is solid gold imo. I’ve always said that Hades is an amazing game, it’s just supergiant’s worst game.
Personally, I think for me, it comes down to the setting. Bastion, Transistor and Pyre all had amazing, unique settings that made me as a player want to learn and explore everything I could. And again, Hades does an amazing job of painting the setting and fleshing out the characters, but it’s kinda just Greek mythology, which has been done before and I personally find it less interesting.
To restate, Hades is an amazing game, just imo it’s supergiants worst game.

101·10 months agoI mean, a lot of roleplayers don’t… It’s definitely pathetic, but like of all the reasons it is, not responding in first person is a weird one to single out XD
Just my two cents of course
Edit : And actually looking back at the picture, the prompter themselves even describes their action as [He] takes her hand, not [I] take your hand, so it makes even more sense for the AI to be doing the same.
A girl in my high-school actually said this (Not word for word obvs) and when I mentioned that would every woman has has lesbian sex at least once she became very very upset.
I would have thought you were joking but having bought one recently, the amount if wacky shit in that app, dailies included, is wild.

I just wanted to say, very interesting article! Thanks for posting
