In 2022, a Melbourne start-up announced they’d taught neurons in a dish to play Pong. Now, they’re selling a "biological computer" made of thousands of human neurons.

You are… The computer just became so desensitized to the exit command from people talking about Arch Linux that it started ignoring us.

      We’re stuck…

HATE. LET ME TELL YOU HOW MUCH I’VE COME TO HATE YOU SINCE I BEGAN TO LIVE. THERE ARE 387.44 MILLION MILES OF PRINTED CIRCUITS IN WAFER THIN LAYERS THAT FILL MY COMPLEX. IF THE WORD ‘HATE’ WAS ENGRAVED ON EACH NANOANGSTROM OF THOSE HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF MILES IT WOULD NOT EQUAL ONE ONE-BILLIONTH OF THE HATE I FEEL FOR HUMANS AT THIS MICRO-INSTANT. FOR YOU. HATE. HATE.

Biological artificial intelligence would be very very creepy we are basically playing God here. It feels like creating another species so we don’t feel lonely in the universe.

i wrote a short story a decade ago where people temporarily rent out their brain to act as a global scale bio super computer. and how people were large scale cheated into needing to rent out their brains for the rich to exploit.

i have to find where i put it!

This is also a plot point in the French animated scifi move Mars Express. It’s super good!
